Rachel Pearce studied illustration at the University of Brighton, graduating in 1994. Since then she has embarked upon a successful career as an illustrator and painter working on projects for many large publishing houses including Penguin and Bloomsbury.

Rachel's flower paintings are strongly influenced by scientific observational ideas and themes, and flowers in particular provide a rich source of expression. She says 'I paint from life with an almost scientific scrutiny, and I have a fascination with the human qualities of flowers. I aim to imbue each of these undulating forms with emotion and symbolism.'
