Serigraphs are high quality open edition silkscreen prints. They are individually hand made by craftsman who squeeze printing ink through intricate stencils attached to a fine screen made of silk onto hand made paper, one colour at a time, to produce a work of art. The process demands great skill and expertise, and was first made popular as an art form by pop artist Andy Warhol. The advantages of using serigraphy over other printing methods are a greater depth of colour, texture and detail, and in the case of works by Roy Lichtenstein, Henri Matisse and Andy Warhol, the process is identical to how the great artists produced their original artworks.
