Gregory Lang Art Prints on Canvas
American Artist Gregory Lang is best known for his strikingly abstract urban cityscape paintings.
Born in New England, USA, Gregory was influenced by his industrial surroundings and began drawing and painting harbours, bridges and buildings at a very early age. At the age of just 9 the talented young Lang a storybook written and illustrated by Gregory was exhibited at the Museum of Discovery in Connecticut. He lately went on to study painting and drawing at the Silvermine School of Art in New Canaan, Connecticut and mechanical drafting and design. At the age of 19, Gregory moved to Berlin in Germany to study architecture. Arriving only fourteen months after the fall of the Berlin Wall, he was exposed to a great deal of underground, outsider art that was emerging from the East at that time. During this period Lang created sketches of cityscapes, landscapes and buildings from his travels throughout Europe and explored photography and painting in situ. Gregory returned to America to work in New York and eventually moved to San Francisco in California. Over the next decade Gregory has worked as a fine art consultant for galleries representing established and notable artists in addition to co-founding an art publishing company for emerging artists. In 2002 Gregory introduced his first series of urban abstract paintings at a solo show in San Francisco. Today, fine art prints and canvases of his urban cityscape paintings are produced all over the world.
