Classic Cyril Power's 1932 Linocut 'Speed Trial' takes it's inspiration from Malcolm Campbell’s famous car ‘Bluebird’ which set a new world land speed record of just over 246 miles per hour at Daytona Beach in Florida, USA in 1931. The helmet Campbell wears is only just visible – man has become one with the dynamic machine. Cyril Power was fascinated by modes of modern transport, in particular the London Underground. Other popular prints in this series include 'The Escalator', 'The Tube Station' and 'Whence & Whither' all of which are available from The Fine Art Company.
