This linocut produced by British artist and print maker Cyril Power in 1929 and it features the exit from London's Charing Cross Tube Station. Power was transfixed by the London Underground which was to him a symbol of a new machine age. Several of his works concentrate on depictions of various aspects of this mode of transport: trains as in 'The Tube Station' also available at the Fine Art Company, staircases, and here the escalator. The original image size: 33.4 x 37.2cm and it was produced from three printing blocks: yellow, orange and viridian.
