British painter printmaker Eric Ravilious is one of our best-loved British artists. The watercolour Aldeburgh was painted on a beach in Aldeburgh, Essex in 1938. Blue and white striped huts on wheels stand ready to be wheeled into the sea. An Edwardian invention, these strange machines were used to protect the bather's modesty while entering and leaving the water. This enigmatic watercolour typifies Eric's work - an interesting subject beautifully rendered. It juxtaposes the natural and the manmade. Seascapes were a recurring theme in Eric's work and are the subject matter for many of his most iconic paintings. This beautiful limited edition art print is available to purchase either framed or unframed. You may also wish to visit our sister website www.ericraviliousprints.com
