Originally a mixed-media painting of watercolour and pencil, 'Paddle Steamers, Bristol Quay' shows a port scene from a bygone era. Artist Eric Ravilious often went on painting excursions with his friend, fellow painter John Nash and this is one of the scenes they encountered in Bristol in 1938.
