Brighton-based painter Shyama Ruffell's colour-infused canvases are undeniably joyful - ideal for adding some Summer sunshine to an interior.
Her paintings have been described as “A cocktail of William Morris, Mackintosh and Rousseau in an English meadow, with a splash of Klimt and a squeeze of Jungle book.” Shyama works in a studio in her garden where she is surrounded by tree ferns, daisies, yuccas, palms, honesty, wild flowers and poppies to provide her with inspiration and visual references.
#ShyamaRuffell begun her creative career as a textile designer producing designs for many fashion retailers including Selfridges, Oasis and Hennes. Today she works as a full time artist and her paintings have appeared in exhibitions, galleries and collections throughout the UK and Europe.
